1. Charge Entry Role: Accurately enter patient information, insurance details, and service codes into the billing system. Verify charges, ensure they are posted correctly to the patients account, and adhere to coding, claims filing, and insurance verification processes. Use billing software and EMR systems to facilitate accurate charge entry.
2. AR Caller Role: Review and manage insurance and patient payments, including denials and adjustments. Communicate with the billing representative to address discrepancies in payments that don't meet the contracted or allowed amounts, and resolve any issues related to underpayments or non-payment.
3. AR Analyst Role: Interpret and analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs). Post payments, adjustments, and write-offs accurately. Balance batches with deposit totals and identify any denials, communicating them to the AR team to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
4. Payment Posting Role: Interpret and analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs). Accurately post insurance and patient payments, contractual adjustments, and write-offs in accordance with payer guidelines. Balance payment batches against deposit totals to ensure financial accuracy. Identify denials, underpayments, and discrepancies, and communicate findings to the AR team to support timely follow-up, appeal, and resolution.
