Sales Manager

Location: Chennai (with travel as required)

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales

·        • Identify, target, and acquire new clients in freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transport segments.

·        • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue goals.

·        • Prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial presentations for potential clients.

·        • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure consistent business inflow.

·        • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations independently.

Account Management

·        • Build long-term relationships with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

·        • Manage end-to-end communication between operations and clients to ensure service quality.

·        • Upsell and cross-sell additional logistics solutions based on client requirements.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

·        • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and pricing benchmarks.

·        • Identify emerging markets, trade routes, and business opportunities.

·        • Provide inputs to management on market expansion and service portfolio development.

Team Collaboration & Reporting

·        • Coordinate with operations, documentation, and accounts teams for smooth service delivery.

·        • Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports to management.

·        • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and campaigns.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

·        • Graduate / MBA in Marketing, International Business, or Logistics.

·        • 8–12 years of proven experience in B2B logistics / freight forwarding sales.

·        • Strong knowledge of Sea, Air, and Transport logistics operations.

·        • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

·        • Proven ability to achieve revenue targets and maintain client relationships.

·        • Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and report preparation.

·        • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and willing to travel when required.

·        • Monthly and annual sales achievement against targets.

·        • New client acquisition rate.

·        • Retention and satisfaction of key accounts.

·        • Contribution to overall business growth and profitability.
