Core Responsibilities
Technical Advising: Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and craftspeople to interpret complex drawings and blueprints.
Setting Out: Accurately mark site layouts, levels, and infrastructure positions.
Quality Control: Ensuring all work and materials ranging from concrete grades to structural steeladhere to project specifications and industry standards.
Health & Safety: Overseeing strict compliance with safety regulations (like the Building Safety Act) to minimize hazards on-site.
Resource Management: Planning the allocation of labor, materials, and plant equipment to meet strict project deadlines.
Documentation: Maintaining site diaries, change orders, and preparing progress reports for project managers and clients.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
Logistics: A valid driver’s license is almost always required due to frequent travel between different sites.
