Building Management Systems - Commissioning Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled BMS (Building Management System) Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation, testing, and optimization of BMS systems in commercial and industrial facilities. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of building systems, promoting energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

System Commissioning:

• Lead the commissioning process for BMS systems, including controls, sensors, and controllers.
• Ensure the system meets design specifications and project requirements.

Functional Testing:

• Conduct thorough functional testing of BMS components to validate their performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during commissioning.

Integration Testing:

• Verify the integration of BMS with other building systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and security, FAS, FANS, LIFT, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Ensure seamless communication and coordination between systems.

Optimization:

• Optimize BMS settings and configurations to maximize energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
• Fine-tune control sequences for optimal system operation.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and detailed commissioning documentation, including test plans, results, and as-built drawings.
• Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports for stakeholders.
• Maintain Project Backups in an organised manner.

Training:

• Conduct training sessions for facility operators and maintenance teams on BMS operation and maintenance.
• Ensure end-users are proficient in system use.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality assurance processes to validate that BMS systems meet performance and reliability standards.
• Perform retesting and adjustments as needed.

Client Engagement:

• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific requirements and address their concerns.
• Provide regular updates on the commissioning progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Management Systems, controls, and sensors.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with BMS programming languages (Open Protocols, BACnet, Modbus).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, BMS manufacturer certifications) is a plus.
